BARRY MANN PHOTOGRAPHY LAUNCHES NEW FULL FRAME DIGITAL SLR SYSTEM - September 2007

Barry Mann Photography is pleased to announce the launch of a newly upgraded camera system used in the production of High-Level images.

The new system, which has been individually designed and extensively tested, replaces the previously used 8.0 MegaPixel(MP) digital compact camera with a full frame 12.8MP Professional Digital SLR camera. The system provides many benefits to clients, the most important being improved image quality, which now rivals that of film and matches that of Barry Mann Photography's ground level photography.

The camera remains fully controlled from the ground, maintaining the ability to zoom, adjust aperture, shutter speed, ISO speed and view live images prior to releasing the shutter. The pan and tilt system now provides +/- 90° tilt, combined with 360° rotation, enabling coverage of a variety of angles from a single position and the creation of stunning panoramic images and unusual angles.

The use of 3 different Canon 'L'/'DO' lenses (16-35, 24-105 & 70-300mm) gives a much wider image range, compared with the previous 28-200mm, whilst the increased sensor size of the camera also provides a much larger image than could be previously obtained. The image below shows a comparison of image size, showing the entire full frame image and the equivalent image that would have been obtained with the smaller sensor (outlined in red).

Barry Mann Photography is one of the first in the UK to be using the new system, investing in technological advances to provide a better service to clients.

The use of the SLR camera also provides a much wider ISO range (50-3200) to work with, which can be set accordingly to match wind & lighting conditions. Thus a reasonable shutter speed is obtainable in much lower light conditions without the loss of image quality.

The comparative close up (300%) images below show the digital noise that appears on the SLR camera compared to that of the compact camera. The results speak for themselves.
